The Senior Director, Talent and Employee Experience, for Integrated DNA Technologies is responsible for driving organizational culture by developing, implementing, and leading innovative, effective talent strategies and employee experience to attract, grow and retain a diverse, top-talent leadership pipeline. You will lead a team of direct and indirect talent staff (11), including Talent Acquisition strategy.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Drive talent strategy and employee experience to optimize across IDT's talent processes and employee experience and facilitate the successful management of the Danaher Business System (DBS) within the Global Human Resources (HR) function.
  • The role requires a responsive, strategic, and customer focused individual who has demonstrated success being a change agent, strong influencer, with executive presence.
  • Identify opportunities to "raise the bar" for individuals and for the team by instilling a vision and agenda as an integral part of this role's goals for success. They will be equipped and prepared to provide deeper insight, best practices, core competencies, and skills to complement their direct reports.
  • The leader is the key architect of talent and cultural innovation progress and growth toward an engaging employee experience. For successful leaders, this role has runway to more senior leadership opportunities across the Life Sciences Platform and Danaher. This position is in the succession plan for the IDT VP HR Leader (L1) role.

The essential requirements of the job include:

Talent Planning

  • Lead and execute in partnership with Talent Management, Director, and Senior Manager (direct reports), talent planning frameworks, processes, and tools to identify, develop and deploy internal talent, integrating business and workforce succession plans to meet current and future business needs through critical talent strategies.
  • Enable movement of talent as champion of succession planning and chess boarding within IDT and across Danaher Operating Companies; prepare for and participate in Platform chessboard process and partner with Platform to drive internal search process and maximize internal fill.
  • Work closely with the business to continuously understand their evolving needs and identify opportunities to deliver through talent solutions, such as leadership development programs, talent assessments, etc.
  • Serve as a resource to business leaders and Human Resources for talent calibration and continuous support to build readiness and sustainability of our internal talent pipeline.
  • Create insights through analytics leveraging internal and external data to identify skill and talent gaps. Analyze talent gaps and related metrics compared to objectives. Benchmark and mine associate, leader generated, and org level talent data for insights as well as seeking VoC for further talent insights and benchmarking.

Performance Management

  • Lead our Performance and Development For Growth processes with specific focus on robust career and development planning strategies, solutions and support for our Associates and People Leaders.

Learning & Development

  • Deploy learning resources and strategies with Learning & Organization Development, Sr. Manager (direct report) that foster the continuous, sustainable development of talent. Actively develop people leadership and change leadership competencies and capabilities throughout the organization.
  • Focus on the full employee life cycle through talent management for the global enterprise. (e.g. on-boarding, progression through the talent funnel, retention & engagement).

Coaching

  • Identify, cultivate and coach high-potential talent through intentional career journeys, cross-enterprise experiences (e.g. rotations or talent moves), and leadership competency development.
  • Apply techniques and tools at the individual level that enable reflection, insight, learning and application of new and more effective perspectives and behaviors.
  • Assess coaching/mentoring/sponsorship programs and deploy as identified by broader business and talent strategy and current needs of the business.

Organizational Effectiveness & Change Management

  • Lead organizational effectiveness strategies for the business including strategic planning, organization planning/design, talent assessment, change management, team building and development.
  • Be/Become Certified Practitioner in Danaher Change Management
  • Support business-led transformation Talent and Employee Experience initiatives (e.g. M&A) by implementing and leveraging talent practices (e.g., talent assessment, competencies development, organization design and effectiveness, etc.).

Internal Communications

  • Lead and execute in partnership with Communications Director (direct report) internal communications strategy and implementation for the organization's business strategy and company brand.
  • This role will also oversee the collaboration with internal key stakeholders to engage with leadership to translate scientific information for internal/employee communication.
  • Partner with global marketing to develop and continuously evolve our Associate Value Proposition and share it across the organization.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field with 14 years of experience, or Master's/Doctoral degree with 12 years of experience (Business, Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, or related field preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience leading in human resources or business partnership.
  • 4+ years of direct experience managing people
  • 5+ years of experience working in or leading progressive Talent Management, and Culture System functions with experience in global companies producing products in a complex global environment, or equivalent transferable work experience.
  • Ability to synthesize business data and develop innovative and holistic HR solutions that are forward-thinking and growth-oriented.
  • Customer-focused, proven track record of building credibility within a global and matrixed environment through effective communication and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong understanding/ application of change management and process excellence principles, ability to lead an organization through significant change without losing momentum; ability to inspire continuous focus on key business drivers, as well as IDT's mission and values.
  • Demonstrated success in partnering across a decentralized company, and leading talent strategy and employee experience in a highly accountable, results-focused company, where leaders at all levels focus on demonstrating visible commitment to core values and operating principles and practices.
  • Driven analytically; fluent with data-driven analysis and performance metrics.
  • Ability to lead Talent and Employee Experience Team including performance management, compensation increases, development actions, consulting on career aspirations, support extends to indirectly supervised associates.
  • Proven experience in establishing and managing the talent function budget.

The salary range for this role is $190K-$240K. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
