The Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is currently seeking a temporary Content Specialist to work in Miami. The Content Specialist assists in the development and implementation of content on institutional websites. Further, the Content Specialist assists with integrating the work of writers and designers to produce a final layout compatible with business standards.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Scrutinizes each piece of content submitted, with a keen focus on grammar and format.

Works closely with legal, compliance, brand, product, and corporate communications to ensure content includes appropriate strategic direction, consistency, regulatory alignment, and thoughtful consideration of risk.

Analyzes delivery metrics to identify and troubleshoot issues.

Assists in improving and scaling our workflows and tools.

Compiles and analyzes web metrics associated with the content and product campaigns to evaluate performance and effectiveness of content and product campaigns and modify future tactics.

Researches and executes content changes.

Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Department Specific Functions

  • Manage the organizations Learning Management System, including content development, analytics, and troubleshooting
  • Utilize, the department's online event management system
  • Create and edit content including custom-designed event webpages, e-newsletters, and invitations, in addition to entering and updating contact data
  • Assist with the maintenance and administration of organizational digital marketing
  • Expand webpages to include events and services provided
  • Work closely with the digital marketing team to identify emerging digital opportunities, strategize tactics and support the execution to drive improvements
  • Educate internal teams and advocate best practices and new industry trends and opportunities for increased digital branding
  • Draft social media content, posts and website copy for marketing team
  • Audit websites for search engine optimization and execute long-term SEO campaigns
  • Propose new content strategies, media trends and content pieces
  • Manage vendors
  • Coordinate various projects
  • Act as liaison between Dept. of CME, faculty members, and vendors
  • Produce detailed reporting on learning management system usage
  • Edits videos and uploads edited video courses onto Learning Management System

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related field, communications or related field.

Experience:

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure.
  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
