This would be the first Middle Office hire in their Houston office and the successful candidate would be working closely with their global middle and front office teams, specifically Houston & Geneva. This position will be reporting directly into the Managing Director of the Global Middle Office.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to internal and external policies and constraints in trading activities.
  • Maintain and enhance deals and data in the Energy Trade and Risk Management (ETRM) system to align with current trading strategies and operations.
  • Assess daily Profit & Loss (P&L) and Exposure for assigned trading desks.
  • Maintain regular communication with Traders to ensure accurate booking and system allocations.
  • Collaborate with various departments to identify and address inconsistencies in ETRM data.
  • Conduct occasional market or quantitative analyses as needed.
  • Ensure precise market valuation of held positions.
  • Collaborate with fellow middle Officers to analyze specific trading transactions and activities.
  • Contribute to the daily P&L reconciliation process.
  • Share knowledge and expertise with other members of the Risk Management team.

Qualifications:

  • 2-6 years of experience in a Middle Office/Risk function supporting commodity trading activities
  • Strong understanding of Physical Oil markets & physical commodities trading
  • Experience using an ETRM tool
  • Technical skills such as VBA, SQL, or Python highly desired
  • Exceptional communication & interpersonal skills
