Key Responsibilities:
As a Property Underwriter, you will be responsible for:
- Acting as a champion for customer industries, focusing on enhancing the customer journey by comprehensively understanding their risks and providing optimal insurance solutions.
- Employing a methodical approach to risk evaluation, exposure analysis, and pricing strategies.
- Utilizing risk insights, data analytics, and modeling techniques to inform decisions at the point of sale.
- Identifying coverage gaps and aligning Zurich's offerings to deliver the contract certainty that clients require.
- Exhibiting strong analytical capabilities and serving as an innovative advisor.
- Underwriting, analyzing, and generating both new and renewal business.
- Maintaining a market-facing presence and driving production within the expanding Middle Markets property division.
- Administering and overseeing underwriting guidelines, insurance regulations, and rating manual protocols.
- Building and nurturing relationships with agencies and brokers.
- Working within broad limits on complex assignments.
- Casualty experience is advantageous.
Qualifications:
Mid-Senior Level:
High School Diploma or Equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing roles, or equivalent experience in Claims or Underwriting Support.
Senior Level:
High School Diploma or Equivalent with at least 5 years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing roles, or equivalent experience in Claims or Underwriting Support.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Experience in market-facing property underwriting.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to effectively assess risk.
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated knowledge of underwriting principles and regulatory guidelines.
