Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this full-time contractual position is to serve as the Coordinator for the Maryland Department of Health (MDH)'s Prevention and Health Promotion Administration (PHPA)'s Maryland Building Our Largest Dementia (BOLD) Infrastructure Project. This project includes a 5-year federal cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).\r
This position will support, monitor and coordinate a wide range of strategic Statewide brain health programming, policy and planning activities for the Maryland BOLD Project.\r

This position will also supervise staff members and manage budgets for the federal grant. Additionally, this position will manage vendors and grantees, thereby ensuring compliance with State financial and procurement regulations.\r
Furthermore, this position will work independently to oversee special projects, as well as to manage procurement, product development, and program activities, as assigned.�\r

This position will provide input on the evaluation, analysis and development of policies and programs which address the public health challenges presented by Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD) in the State of Maryland. Finally, this position will implement actions within Maryland's State Plan to address ADRD, while also providing support to staff members within the Maryland Alzheimer's and Related Dementias Council.\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:�A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Education, Counseling, or a related field.\r
Experience:�Six years of professional experience in health services, three years of which must have been in Health Services professional clinical or administrative services in areas other than Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities or Addictions, and three years of which must have been at the managerial or supervisory level.\r
Notes:�\r
1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree or a Doctorate degree in a health or human services field from an accredited college or university for up to two years of the required general experience.\r
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in another field, plus an additional year of professional experience in health services, for the required education.\r
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a Commissioned Officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Health Services Administration specialty codes in the health-related field of work, on a year-for-year basis, for the required experience and education.\r

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should have experience coordinating a Public Health program(s). The desired candidate should also have experience managing a budget(s).\r

BENEFITS

Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract, and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits.�\r
You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.\r
Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12-month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.\r
