Main Purpose of Job

This position will be responsible for determining the financial, regulatory and overall due\r
diligence considerations for Casino and Sports Wagering operators, manufacturers,\r
contractors, their officers, directors, employees, and other designated persons. The\r
incumbent will uphold the policies, procedures and requirements mandated by the\r
Regulatory Licensing and Background Investigations Division to ensure the integrity of\r
the position and the Division. The incumbent will provide all applicants, references,\r
companies, customers and stakeholders with services in accordance with the State of\r
Maryland Customer Service Promise.\r

POSITION DUTIES

Examination, evaluation, and investigation of all applicants to provide assurance that applicants meet suitability\r
requirements as established by law.\r
- Conduct field investigations and interviews of applicants, witnesses, and other relevant parties to corroborate\r
information on applications.\r
- Develop comprehensive investigative reports that support the denial/approval of licensure.\r
- Maintain each case file and documentation within electronic database.\r
- Prepare necessary documentation and correspondence for Commission meetings that supports auditing and\r
enforcement programs.\r
- Provides testimony before Hearings and Appeals, the Commission and courts of law or hearing forums.\r
- Provides constituents, businesses, customers, and stakeholders with services in accordance with the State of\r
Maryland Customer Service Promise.\r
- Travels within Maryland, the United States and abroad to complete investigative assignments as required.\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \r
Experience: Five years of administrative staff or professional work. \r

1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience. \r
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience. \r
3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience. \r
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for- year basis for the required experience.\r
