Faculty Scholars are accomplished early or mid-career researchers who have a strong potential to make impactful research contributions to the field of pediatric IBD or celiac disease. Qualified applicants conducting research in any clinical, translational, or basic science field relevant to IBD or celiac disease are welcome to apply. Fields of particular interest include artificial intelligence, computational biology, and host-microbial interactions. Joint or courtesy appointment in a secondary department may be considered for appropriately qualified candidates.The predominant criterion for appointment in the University Tenure Line is a major commitment to research and teaching.
The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the University Medical Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.
The major criterion for appointment for faculty in the Non-tenure Line (Research) is evidence of high-level performance as a researcher for whose special knowledge a programmatic need exists.Faculty rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

Successful candidates will have demonstrated outstanding potential for impactful discovery and leadership in research of high relevance to pediatric IBD or celiac disease as evidenced by high-quality publications and a record of extramural career development. Faculty scholars will be expected to develop independent research programs advancing impactful discovery in pediatric IBD or celiac disease, work collaboratively with Center clinicians and scientists, and participate in the training and mentorship of students and post-doctoral fellows. Opportunities for clinical service activities in the Division are available for board-certified M.D. pediatric gastroenterologist physician-scientist candidates.

The Stanford Medicine Children's Health Center for IBD and Celiac Disease aims to integrate leading-edge care and research to elevate all children with IBD and celiac disease. The Center is supported by a transformative philanthropic gift to enable an intramural research seed grant and post-doctoral fellow award program, multiple scientific faculty recruitments, laboratory space, and a comprehensive patient biobank and data repository. Center programs and resources support world-class investigators to point their scientific lenses towards pediatric IBD and celiac disease. The successful applicant will collaborate with the clinical arm of the Center which includes pediatric gastroenterologists, physician-scientists, allied health professionals, and clinical data analysts who provide world-class clinical care to a large population of children with IBD and celiac disease.

We expect the successful candidate to serve as a member of the Pediatric, Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition Division at Stanford Medicine Children's Health with responsibilities for research and teaching in the fields of IBD and/or celiac disease. S/he/they will join a nationally recognized group of pediatric gastroenterologists who provide clinical care and perform research within multidisciplinary gastroenterology, nutrition, hepatology, and liver transplantation programs. The Pediatric Gastroenterology Program at Stanford Medicine Children's Health has grown dramatically over the past ten years and is currently ranked in the top 15 programs nationally by U.S. News and World Report.

The expected base pay range for this position is:
NTLR or UTL Candidate with PhD or MD/PhD degree:
Assistant Professor: $190k - $208k
Associate Professor: $218k - $242k

UML candidate (with substantial clinical time):
Assistant Professor: $245k - $263k
Associate Professor: $284k - $302k

This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine's faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
