The Greater New Orleans Collaborative of Charter Schools (GNOCCS) is seeking an Executive Director to manage the collaborative and report to the board who is composed of CEO/Exec Directors of member schools. The
Executive Director facilitates the collaboration of its members through communications, advocacy, and professional development to efficiently serve the schools' students and families. The Collaborative is a network of community-based charter schools dedicated to reinvigorating quality education and family choice. Members believe that collective learning and advocacy can bolster the viability of charter schools in our community.

The Executive Director advocates for the authority, accountability, and resources necessary to meet the needs of the member schools, their students, faculty, staff, and leaders. GNOCCS membership is open to small
to mid-sized charter organizations based in the Greater New Orleans area. GNOCCS currently has 14 full-member schools with eight active support cohorts.

The mission of The Collaborative is to advance our students' futures by providing opportunities for visionary leaders and educators to collaborate, learn, and advocate. The job of the Executive Director is to:
Plan, support, and attend monthly CEO meetings of all member schools.
Plan, support, and oversee the GNOCCS Job Fair. The Job Fair is generally an annual event but could be held online or in person more than once a year.
Apply for local and regional grants to support the GNOCCS organization and its priorities.
Identify and support advocacy priorities on an annual and ongoing basis that align with GNOCCS member schools
Advocate for local and state legislation for policy and/or law that may impact member schools. This may include attending BESE meetings and/or legislative sessions that involve school-based proposals.
Plan, support, and compile reports of various cohort groups' goals, meetings, and outcomes. (Principal, Curriculum, Finance, Development/Communications, Data, Facilities, Diverse Learner, Student Well-being) The ED will strive to make cohort meetings well-attended, impactful, and responsive to current needs in schools.
Attend Orleans and Jefferson Parish School Board meetings and create a shared Brief with member schools.
Work with the financial consultant to set and maintain an annual budget.
Work in partnership with the School Leadership Center (SLC) to create and promote programs for member schools and/or cohorts.
Liaison with the consulting attorneys and media consultants to meet the goals of the member schools. This includes work on legal issues that impact all members and charter renewal work. Also included is work with the media consultant on annual media promotional materials and crisis media assistance when needed.
Maintain (through membership renewal) and grow the full member status of participating and eligible schools.
Complete business management of the organization by reviewing invoices and bank records.

Qualifications:
Master's Degree preferred, minimum Bachelor's Degree required in Education or a related field.
5 years + experience in education, schools, and/or school-related businesses.
5 years + experience in nonprofit organizations.
Self-starter who is motivated and able to work in various locations across the Greater New Orleans area.
Good communicator with elected officials, charter leaders, faculty, partner groups, and professional colleagues.
Excellent technical writing skills.
Efficient and effective technology skills for posting and communicating electronically.
Deep knowledge of charter schools and how schools work and operate.
Historical knowledge of school systems in the Greater New Orleans Area
Problem-solving, growth mindset.
Ability to travel to Baton Rouge when needed.
