The Chief will direct the clinical, educational, and research activities for the Section, as well as the planning and building of a future Urologic Surgery Residency Program. Based in the Level-1 763-bed trauma and academic health center, Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital/Carilion Children s Hospital, our program provides comprehensive urology coverage to over one million people in a large, rural, multi-state area. Urology services are also provided in several other Carilion hospitals, including Carilion New River Valley Medical Center, Carilion Giles Community Hospital, and Carilion Rockbridge Community Hospital. The section operates clinics in five satellite locations in the region. Clinical pathology is exceptionally broad, and our urologists perform the full breadth of procedures of all levels of complexity.

Carilion Clinic is a progressive, emerging leader in American healthcare dedicated to improving outcomes and enhancing value for every patient, while advancing the quality of care through medical education and research. A physician-led, multi-specialty, not-for-profit healthcare organization based in Roanoke, Virginia, Carilion Clinic operates 7 hospitals, 282 outpatient clinics, 788 physicians representing more than 75+ specialties, along with 350 residents and fellows in 29 accredited ACGME programs. Other requirements include:MD/DO, Board Certification/Eligible in UrologyAt least 5 years of progressive urology leadership in an academic setting with an academic rank of at least Associate ProfessorEvidence of strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skillsPhysician leadership experience with emphasis on team building; development of integrated collaborative models of care, education, and research; and managing people and programs.Experience with graduate medical education is preferredFellowship Training in a Urologic specialty is preferredThe Roanoke Valley is a metro area of 300,000 and has consistently been rated among the "best places to live" in the nation.
