Under the direction of the Human Resources Operations Manager, the HR Specialist will support the daily HR operations. You will be responsible for various administrative tasks, such as processing purchase orders and requisitions, addressing payroll/compensation issues and leading onboarding of new employees to the site. You will also act as a liaison between the HR department and other departments, vendors, and external partners.

• Develop and implement an effective onboarding program to enable a comprehensive, clear, and inclusive experience for new or existing BASF employees starting onsite.

• Perform administrative HR operations tasks, such as preparing reports, and filing documents.

• Process purchase orders and requisitions for the HR department and ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices.

• Assist with the onboarding process of new hires, including preparing offer letters, conducting background checks, and coordinating orientation sessions.

• Provide support to employees and managers on HR-related queries and issues, such as benefits, policies, and payroll.

• Act as subject matter expert for all pay policies for the Freeport site by partnering closely with corporate payroll. Support, research, and bring to completion any time entry errors. This includes employees who have been affected by leaves of absence.

• Site Administrator and subject matter expert for SchedulePro for all areas including supporting employees and managers on implementation, training, reporting, and inquiries in support of our overall fatigue risk management initiatives and system integrity.

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating HR processes and procedures, proposing solutions, and driving efforts to completion with a cost savings mindset.

• Provide reporting and analyzing data on HR related items and systems by utilizing tools such as SchedulePro, and SAP.

• Responsible for Overtime and Absence reporting

• Together with the HR Operations and Partnership and Communications teams, ensure prompt and accurate HR communications to the site.

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fields.

• At least two years of experience in a HR or related roles, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

• Proficient in MS Office and HR software, such as SAP

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

• Attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.

• Knowledge of HR best practices, laws, and regulations.


• Experience at an operations/manufacturing site and working in a matrix environment (preferred)


• While the position is allowed to work a hybrid schedule, your physical presence, and accessibility on site for a minimum of 3 days every work week is required.
