Job Description

Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively.

  • This position requires an employee to be onsite monthly.

The selected candidate will be required to be located within 100 miles of the Regional Office located in Westlake Village, California.

The Business Resource Manager - Technical (BRMT) reports to the Customer Activities Manager (CAM).

The BRMT is primarily the technical expert to GM's local counsel working on State and Federal Consumer Protection cases (lemon law).

In this position, the BRMT:

  • Regularly serves as General Motors' technical expert in pending breach of warranty matters in California including depositions and BBB hearings
  • Works with local counsel to coordinate and participate in localized lemon law seminars
  • Evaluates cases on technical merit as requested by local counsel and other entities.
  • Performs vehicle inspections to evaluate customer concerns, vehicles, and repair processes.
  • Serves as decision maker for all regional cases involving the Better Business Bureau (BBB), State Attorney General, and small claims cases.
  • Provides training and support to the Service Zone and Field Engineering teams

    • Familiarization with GM Service Policies & Procedures (P&P) Manual
    • Familiarization with GM Service Operations Guide (SOG) Manual
    • Use of GM diagnostic tools (Tech-2, Electronic Vibration Analyzer, etc.).
  • State "Lemon Laws"
  • Customer Assistance

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree or equivalent experience.
  • Automotive technical background (5 years)
  • ASE Master - Automotive
  • ASE L1 Advanced Level – Automotive
  • Diagnostic & Repair skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Analytical ability to deal with complex problems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work with personnel both within and outside of the organization
  • Willingness to travel and/or relocate
  • Possess a valid driver's license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • District Manager Aftersales/District Service Manager experience
  • SAE Member
  • Technical Teaching background
