Horticulture Writer/Subject Matter Expert/Content Creator

This is a part-time fully remote contract position with a time commitment of approximately 20 hours a week. Actual time commitment will vary based on deliverables and determined by the agreed upon development schedule.
Tasks include revising chapter content (including their featured activities, etc.) based on co-author mark-up, or revising chapter features throughout the textbook.
Revision tasks may include manuscript review, copyediting review, and page proof review.
Project Scope:
The SME will work closely and collaboratively with our client's content development team to develop content for a new edition of an existing Horticulture textbook.
Tasks include (but are not limited to) the following deliverables:
- Instructional content may include Chapter Content, Lessons, Assignments, Discussion Area activities, Qualitative and Quantitative Assessments (both formative and summative), and additional resources as deemed appropriate and necessary).
- BS degree or equivalent in Botany, Horticulture, or equivalent industry experience.
- Must have teaching experience in horticulture or botany preferably at the secondary or HED level.
- Minimum of three (3) years of industry and/or teaching experience
- Strong knowledge of Horticulture
- Writing experience in educational publishing strongly preferred.
- Candidate will work in Microsoft Word and Adobe PDF
- Ability to follow client guidelines and specifications, which may change throughout the course of a project
- Ability to meet all agreed-upon deadlines
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to write directly into a variety of client-managed content management systems
- SME will need to be available during US business hours.
- Master's Degree in Horticulture or equivalent
- Experience in course or program curriculum writing and development
- Published author (i.e., white paper, academic article, textbook, online course, etc.)
