Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

Pay:
Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

Retirement:
Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

Insurance:
Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)
Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

CME:
Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)

Malpractice:
Free liability protection with tail coverage provided

Contract:
No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting

Duties:
Providing oversight over clinical operations including access, quality of care, efficiency, productivity, and clinical services budgetary and staffing plans.

Advising the CEO (Executive Director of the Medical Center) on matters related to clinical care delivery and strategic planning.

Supervising Deputy Chief of Staff and Clinical Service Chiefs.
Maintaining the Credentialing and Privileging program.
Serving as Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the Medical Staff (ECMS) and the Professional Standards Board (PSB).
Acting as the Medical Staff's advocate and representative in relationship with the Governing Body.

Enforcing the Medical Staff Bylaws and continually evaluate and report to the Governing Body and ECMS on the effectiveness of the credentialing and privileging processes.

Oversees the Graduate Medical Education and allied health training programs including academic affiliations and supervision of the Associate Chief of Staff for Education (ACOS-E).

Responsible for the Group Practice Management (GPM) program to ensure timely Veteran access to clinical services.
Supervising the Associate Chief of Staff for Research (ACOS-R) over the Research and Development program.

Serving as a statutory board member on the Midwest Veterans Biomedical Research Foundation (MVBRF) executive board that supports the research mission for Kansas City, Eastern Kansas, and Wichita VA Medical Centers.

Provides oversight of health informatics service including supervision of the Associate Chief of Staff for Quality.
Oversees the Clinician wellbeing program and the Women's Veteran program.
