As a Program Director, Project Management Office (PMO), you'll:

  • Establish the PMO and foster a project-management-oriented culture and mindset.
  • Lead the identification and implementation of project management processes, methods, tools, guidelines, standards, and a maturity roadmap to establish a stable framework that supports all project teams and stakeholders to improve the probability of successful project delivery.
  • Set standards for project management capabilities, including certifications and qualifications for Project Managers, success measurement criteria, methodologies, tools to be used, etc.
  • Review and evaluate opportunities to improve project management best practices to achieve higher maturity in project portfolio management.
  • Assign project managers to identified projects based on project management experience base and project complexity and scope.
  • Oversee project managers for the delivery of projects on time, within scope and on budget.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to staff while ensuring team members are accountable to assigned projects and workload.
  • Set annual performance targets for direct reports and conduct performance reviews.
  • Provide senior leadership with the information needed to assess and decide which quality improvement/innovations have the highest potential value, impact, and strategic priority alignment.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and scope, and consistent with established standards.
  • Interface with stakeholders to define project priorities, implementation opportunities, challenges, and communicate project risks and opportunities.
  • Serve as a liaison between project teams and other functional areas of the organization.
  • Implement a system for tracking and reporting on the progress of the department's priorities tied to the organization's strategic plan.
  • Maintain processes to ensure the project portfolio data, documentation, and reports are relevant, accurate, and completed in a timely manner.
  • Manage the risk, issue and change resolution process, and work with other leaders to take corrective action as needed.

What you'll bring:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated performance experience in project management. Experience to include needs assessment and analysis, leadership of employees and full understanding of the quality expectations of an operations environment to include both employee expectations and regulatory requirements.
    • Health care and/or managed care environment strongly preferred.
  • PMP/PMI certification (required)
  • Master's degree in business or health science administration or project management required
  • Understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
  • Familiarity with networking concepts and infrastructure.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles.
  • Awareness of cloud computing platforms and services
  • Knowledge of managed care products, operations, delivery systems, process improvement, organizational development and assessing customer expectations.
