Job Description

Director of Operations and Project Management

Gpac is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Operations and Project Management to lead our Underground Utilities team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing field operational policies and guidelines, overseeing the safety program, and working closely with the HR Department to create job descriptions, hire competent personnel, and oversee employee training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement field operational policies and guidelines to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
  • Oversee the safety program, including delegating safety tasks to Superintendents and working with the Admin Specialist to schedule Safety Team meetings and Job Site Visits.
  • Collaborate with the HR Department to create job descriptions, hire competent personnel, and oversee employee training programs.
  • Develop and implement staff evaluations to ensure employee growth and development.
  • Liaise with departmental heads to develop financial plans and ensure company-wide compliance and on-time delivery.
  • Monitor and analyze company revenue margins and conduct budget reviews to maximize profits.
  • Oversee client support services and manage procurement and resource allocation.
  • Develop processes and procedures to streamline projects and ensure successful outcomes.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience in the construction industry, with 10+ years in managerial roles, and strong experience in Underground Utilities.
  • Commercial General Contracting experience is highly valued, as long as the individual has required experience in Utilities.
  • A four-year degree in engineering, construction management, or business is preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple teams in the field at a time.
  • Superior knowledge of industry regulations and operational guidelines.
  • A team leader committed to training and helping team members reach their potential.
