Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate and lead team projects with a talented crew of designers, writers, and producers in the creation of high-quality on-air and digital content.
  • Collaborate closely with the Executive Director of creative and cross-functional teams to develop and implement creative strategies that align with the network's brand and objectives.
  • Conceptualize and pitch creative ideas for promotional campaigns, show packaging, and network branding that enhance our content and engage our audience.
  • Oversee the end-to-end production process, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in sports broadcasting, television production, and digital media to drive innovation and maintain our competitive edge.
  • Mentor and develop creative talent within the team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and excellence.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in creative direction, preferably within the sports media industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Film, Media, Communications, Graphic Design, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Proven track record of successfully leading creative projects and teams, from concept through execution.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a creative team.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) and other relevant software.
  • Deep understanding of television production processes, including graphics creation, video editing, and post-production.
  • Passion for sports, particularly Chicago sports, and a keen awareness of sports culture and fan engagement.

The Chicago Sports Network (CHSN) will launch in October across multiple platforms. The network will air more than 300 live Blackhawks, Bulls and White Sox games annually and include pre- and postgame coverage while showing multisport programming 24 hours a day. CHSN will broadcast from studios located in both Chicago's United Center and Guaranteed Rate Field. The network will start airing Blackhawks and Bulls preseason games in October, showing White Sox games beginning in 2025.
