The Salem Red Sox are the Single-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox and are owned by Diamond Baseball Holdings. We are seeking an upbeat and articulate Public Address (PA) Announcer that adds to the overall fan experience by serving as the in-stadium voice for home games.
This is a part time seasonal position – Must be available for home games between April through September including regular season and potential playoff games. The games take place during week nights and weekends. Pay is on a per game rate. Candidates must live in Salem/Roanoke Valley.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesAct as a public address announcer with the ability to project and enunciate clearly over the microphone in front of a large crowd. Bring enthusiasm and knowledge of the game of baseball.
  • Read all sponsorship verbiage in pre-written script
  • Display a positive attitude and professional demeanor while representing the Salem Red Sox
  • Work closely with all game day operators in press box.
  • Announcements include:
    • Lineups (correct pronunciation of names for home/visiting teams)
    • Pre-game activities
    • In-game promotions
    • Post-game announcements
    • Situational Reads


Qualifications
  • Expertise and demonstrated ability with written communications.
  • Previous public address or vocal broadcasting experience.
  • General knowledge and understanding of baseball, including rules, positions, and terminology.
  • Must be able to take direction and adjust quickly in fast-paced situations.
  • Proven ability to build respectful working relationships and effectively communicate with others.
