Job Title and Company Description

In this role, you will play a key part in the sports health program, supporting orthopaedic clinics, providing game/event coverage, and focusing on injury prevention. You will report to the leader of the Ortho Sports Health program.

Responsibilities

  • Use proper verbal and tactile cuing to minimize injury risk during strength and conditioning programs.
  • Collaborate on strength training programs under the sports medicine program leader's guidance.
  • Provide age-appropriate patient care and integrate safety practices into care provision.
  • Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions, injuries, accidents, and safety concerns.
  • Deliver on-field assessment, injury prevention, and care services.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, coaches, and administrators.
  • Complete documentation, arrange additional services for patients, and engage in community outreach.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and policies while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Communicate with physicians and other members of the sports medicine team.
  • Remove and apply fiberglass casts with proper care and instructions.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or related field (Required)
  • Current licensure as an Athletic Trainer in Florida
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification (CPR BLS)
  • Level II Background Check

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Preference for Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
  • Preferably Certified by the National Athletic Trainer's Association (NATABOC).
  • Capacity to comprehend and implement injury prevention programs.
  • Able to tailor strength and conditioning programs to individual requirements.
  • Offer clear instructions and cuing during programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
