Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Recreation Aide to join our team at the City of Miami Gardens, FL. As a Recreation Aide, you will be responsible for leading various age groups in general recreation activities, implementing after-school programs, camps, and family/adult programs at our park/recreation center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and lead recreation activities for children and adults, including games, arts & crafts, and special events.
  • Assist with the implementation of after-school programs, camps, and family/adult programs.
  • Perform custodial work as needed, including cleaning and maintaining buildings, tables, BBQ grills, utility installations, equipment, grounds, sport courts, trails, restrooms, playgrounds, athletic fields, and other areas.
  • Meet with the public and provide information regarding park facilities and regulations.
  • Report accidents/incidents in a clear and concise manner.
  • Rend basic first aid.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ten (10) months of recreation experience required.
  • First Aid/CPR certified preferred.
  • Valid Florida driver's license.
Working Conditions

The Recreation Aide will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with the public, and performing manual labor outdoors. The ability to work varying shifts, including nights, holidays, and weekends, is required.
