In this vital position, the Executive Director will collaborate extensively with Moderna's dynamic markets, forge strong partnerships with external stakeholders, and drive alignment with cross-functional teams to craft market access and pricing strategies that are not only effective but are tailored to meet evolving market demands and customer needs. This role will steer early program design, shape pricing frameworks, and lead the ambitious development and implementation of MA&P Long Range Plans. Additionally, you will take the helm in orchestrating innovative omnichannel strategies across B2B and B2G channels and lead the charge in pioneering tender and contracting strategies.

This role is based in our Cambridge HQ and offers flexibility to work anywhere 30% of the time. Candidates must be based in, or willing to relocate to, the greater Boston area. Given our high level of collaboration and fast pace, this role is not able to be remote.

Heres What Youll Do:

Lead the creation and execution of global market access plans for both inline and pipeline assets. Ensure strategies are fully integrated with clinical development, real-world evidence, and regulatory and manufacturing decisions to optimize product accessibility and value. Work closely with Moderna affiliates, external partners, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that market access and pricing strategies are effectively tailored to meet market and consumer requirements. Utilize extensive knowledge of innovative pricing and contracting models to meet the needs of institutional customers and implement the MAP vision. Oversee the commercialization of Modernas Infectious Diseases portfolio through institutional channels (B2B, B2G), aligning customer experiences with business objectives. Direct the development of global pricing guidelines and support affiliate markets in the adaptation and execution of these guidelines. Lead the development and application of effective tender and contracting strategies, ensuring competitiveness in tender environments. Champion the integration of generative AI and machine learning technologies across operations, enhancing our ability to launch new mRNA products efficiently. Contribute to long-range planning, strategic plans, budgets, and brand plans, drawing on deep customer insights and robust market access and pricing assumptions. Heres What Youll Need (Minimum Qualifications): At least 15 years of experience in the bio/pharmaceutical or vaccines industry. A minimum of 10 years in a Market Access role with direct national responsibility for Pricing, Reimbursement, Market Access, or Policy. Proven experience in developing global pricing strategies and optimizing pipeline value through market access insights. Heres What Youll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications): Strong scientific and business acumen, capable of assessing problems from multiple perspectives and predicting the impacts of strategies. Demonstrated experience in leveraging AI, machine learning, and digital tools in the biopharmaceutical sector. Proven ability to integrate advanced technologies to drive innovation and operational efficiency, ideally with a track record of collaborating with technology leaders like OpenAI to enhance product development and market strategy. Experience with early pipeline products and global product launches. Demonstrated ability in strategic pricing, tendering, contracting, and negotiation. Ambition to excel and drive the widespread access of vaccines to foster growth and create significant population impacts. Deep knowledge of evidence-based medicine standards, healthcare policies, pricing and market access regulations in key regions (US, Japan, EU), and innovative pricing and contracting models. Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, to effectively engage and influence internal and external stakeholders.
