Senior Mechanical Engineer Role Overview

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer within the Mechanical Engineering Team, you will play a key role in envisioning and bringing to life novel products through design, testing, and production deployment. Your responsibilities will span R&D, architectural design, and leadership within the mechanical engineering domain. Collaborating closely with various departments, including Industrial Design and Electrical Engineering, you will guide the product development process, ensuring alignment with objectives and the Product Life Cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define component and assembly design requirements.
  • Conduct R&D to identify product technologies within cost constraints.
  • Lead engineering design reviews and address reliability and usability concerns.
  • Pioneer design solutions for challenging technical issues collaboratively.
  • Oversee prototype builds and troubleshoot manufacturing line issues.
  • Manage product schedules in collaboration with the Project Management team.
  • Travel to supplier and manufacturing sites within guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 8+ years of end-to-end product development expertise.
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD design using Creo or SolidWorks.
  • Experience with electronic packaging design.
  • Hands-on experience in prototype development and testing.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with GD&T, FEA, and mass production processes.
  • Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
  • Experience with optical and force measurement systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • M.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
