Seattle, Washington, United States Milliman Full time
Milliman's Seattle Health Practice supports clients in the healthcare industry including health plans, government payers, providers, and reinsurers. We are seeking a talented and creative Senior Graphic Designer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting compelling visual content that supports our marketing, sales, and communication strategies. You will play a crucial role in translating complex data and information into engaging visual formats, such as infographics, dashboards, and presentation materials, to enhance our proposals, reports, and promotional efforts.

About Our Practice

Milliman's Seattle Health Practice serves a wide variety of organizations, including insurance companies, health plans, state and federal agencies, healthcare providers, reinsurance companies, providers, Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), and employers. The staff consists of 150+ actuarial professionals in addition to healthcare consultants, IT, Administrative, and other non-actuarial staff.

By joining Milliman, you will be working with some of the most experienced, most capable people in the health industry. Through our mentor program, you will have a dedicated colleague available to help guide your career growth. For the right candidate, these opportunities will help you grow professionally while enjoying the work you do.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Visual Content Creation: Design and develop infographics, visual dashboards, product and service one-pagers, pamphlets, PowerPoint presentations, and formatted proposals. Own and drive the visual strategy, recommending innovative approaches to effectively share complex data and information.
  • Visual Asset Management: Build and maintain a comprehensive library of visuals and visual templates for use in proposals, reports, white papers, and LinkedIn content. Collaborate with the MarCom team to establish processes for designing collateral for events and conferences.
  • Proposal Formatting & Presentation: Handle the final formatting and packaging of proposals. Develop and implement a process to convert proposals into decks for oral presentations. Work closely with the written content strategist to create pitch packs tailored to specific services and products by line of business (LOB).
  • Collaborative Efforts: Partner with recruiting and MarCom to support visual content needs for conferences, LinkedIn pages, and other marketing activities. Ensure alignment with the overall marketing strategy and support cross-selling and outreach efforts.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in visual content creation. Apply new techniques and tools to continuously enhance the effectiveness and appeal of our visual communications.
To be successful in this role, you will have the following qualifications:

Professional Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Marketing, Media Arts, Fine Arts, Communications, Information Design, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in visual content creation and design.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), Figma, PowerPoint, and Word. Candidates should be comfortable spending significant time working in PowerPoint and Word to build templates and format presentations and reports.
  • B2B Design Experience: Previous experience in designing for B2B contexts is essential. Experience in B2C work for highly technical fields or academic publishing is also relevant.
  • Content Strategy: Demonstrated experience in developing content strategies and ideas, not just executing designs. Ability to lead strategy conversations and guide stakeholders towards appropriate visual solutions.
  • Visual Design: Strong background in creating infographics, data visualization, info posters, and other technical design work.
  • Corporate Brand Alignment: Ability to work within a larger corporate brand playbook and ensure visual content adheres to established brand guidelines.
Personal Qualifications
  • Creative Thinker: Innovative and able to generate unique visual solutions for complex information.
  • Detail-Oriented: High accuracy and thoroughness in visual content creation and review.
  • Adaptable: Flexible in managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Effective Communicator: Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • Proactive Problem-Solver: Takes initiative to identify challenges and develop creative solutions.
  • Organized: Excellent organizational skills to manage projects and maintain visual asset libraries.
  • Team-Oriented: Works well in a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams.
  • Client-Focused: Understands and translates client needs into effective visual content.
  • Passionate Designer: Enthusiastic about design trends and continuously improving visual strategies.
