Your role will serve as a vital link between cutting-edge academic research and practical industry applications, ensuring that OPPO remains at the forefront of software technology advancements in the computer graphics sector.

Key Responsibilities

You will be accountable for:

  • Initiating and nurturing both long-term and short-term projects aimed at enhancing OPPO's software capabilities in the computer graphics domain.
  • Conducting thorough research on the latest trends in both academic and industrial computer graphics.
  • Designing and architecting future graphics subsystems and features for existing or conceptual products.
  • Leading architectural discussions on key features related to computer graphics.
  • Evaluating architectural decisions made by peers and proposing alternatives when necessary.
  • Developing a mid to long-term research and development roadmap for the computer graphics field over the next 3-5 years.
  • Facilitating innovative collaborations through brainstorming sessions, research discussions, and market research across various stakeholders.
  • Analyzing existing projects to identify improvement opportunities for enhanced performance, reliability, and usability.
  • Collaborating with engineering management to ensure that architectural designs are effectively implemented by the engineering team.
  • Overseeing the entire research and development workflow in conjunction with engineering management.
  • Independently addressing advanced research and engineering challenges.
  • Mentoring junior team members to foster their growth and development.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent industry experience with a focus on computer graphics and real-time rendering.
  • Over 10 years of experience in computer graphics, real-time rendering, game programming, GPU programming, and related fields.
  • More than 10 years of proficiency in C++ programming.
  • Expertise in modern rendering APIs, including DirectX, OpenGL, and Vulkan.
  • In-depth knowledge of GPU rendering pipelines and architectures.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in mobile and embedded development environments.
  • A strong passion for computer graphics and its diverse applications.
  • Familiarity with Linux development environments and general software engineering workflows and tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CUDA programming.
  • Familiarity with popular game engines such as Unreal and Unity.
  • Knowledge of digital content creation tools and pipelines, including but not limited to Maya, 3ds Max, and Blender.
  • Experience in commercial game development and release processes.
  • A proven track record of academic contributions (publications) or industrial contributions (open-source projects and patents).
  • Collaborative experience with academic institutions.
  • Strong persuasive communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
  • PhD in Computer Science/Engineering is preferred.
