Position Summary

This role involves providing crucial maintenance and facilities support for a manufacturing site and equipment utilized in the production of umbilicals for the oil and gas industry.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Carry out and document monthly and annual inspections of equipment and building systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic repairs on facility HVAC systems, plumbing, and general maintenance tasks.
  • Provide assistance to facility or production maintenance technicians in conducting preventative maintenance and repairs on other equipment.
  • Utilize electrical, refrigeration, and other schematics for inspecting, repairing, and potentially installing HVAC systems.
  • Employ necessary power tools, hand tools, testing devices, and precision-measuring instruments for HVAC system inspections and repairs.
  • Update work orders using Peoplesoft.
  • Adhere to all relevant HSE policies and procedures during daily tasks.
  • Occasionally wear fall protection gear and operate aerial and forklift equipment.
Qualifications
  • REQUIRED
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years of prior facility maintenance experience involving HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical work.
  • Familiarity with navigating computer systems for equipment files or documentation. Proficiency in MS365, Word, Excel, and Outlook is desirable.
  • Experience in maintaining and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems along with related systems like electrical systems, heat pumps, and chillers.
  • Hold certification in refrigerant transition and recovery.
  • Possess a county air conditioning mechanic license or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Capability to engage in physical activities such as climbing, bending, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, etc.
  • Ability to utilize manual or power tools and operate motorized vehicles.
  • Aptitude to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods.
  • Proficiency in working outdoors under challenging conditions, including adverse weather.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of methods, practices, tools, and materials used in repairing refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
  • Thorough understanding of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions.
  • Competence in interpreting complex written and verbal instructions and diagrams to carry out tasks accurately.
  • Ability to file work orders efficiently and draft reports.
  • Skilled in diagnosing and rectifying defects in refrigeration and air conditioning systems promptly.
  • Sound interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with customers, colleagues, and supervisors.
  • Familiarity with Rapid Kaizens principles and Maintenance Department Process Maps.
  • Capability to interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics, complex drawings, specifications, and procedures.
  • Requirement to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card) for work site access.

Additional InformationWORKING CONDITIONS

This role entails a SHOP/OUTDOORS setting characterized by:

  • Weather-dependent indoor/outdoor work during the day and occasionally at night.
  • Frequent exposure to moving and vibrating equipment.
  • High humidity levels and intense lighting conditions.
  • Potential exposure to open fire/flames/sparks, airborne dust, fumes, and gases.
  • Continuous exposure to dust.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY/REQUIREMENTS

The role involves HEAVY work with the following physical demands:

  • Lifting weights of 35-75 pounds with assistance on occasion.
  • Working in confined spaces, engaging in various physical movements, and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Differentiating between colors and taking necessary precautions for skin and eye protection.
  • Operational tasks such as climbing stairs/ladders, standing, balancing, stooping, and operating motorized vehicles.
  • Constantly bearing weights of 10-20 pounds, standing and walking, and wearing mandated protective gear.
