Job Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


Under broad supervision, performs or oversees the development, implementation and monitoring of accounting activity for the Revenue department or agency.

Analyzes financial information and programs, identifies financial trends, makes recommendations to management and prepares a full range of financial reports, including specialized or non-standard reports.


Primary Functions:
Performs accounting function for the Revenue section within the Division of Finance, Office of Financial Services. Serves as a liaison between the Revenue section and other sections within the Department.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Revenue Accountant IIII
Record and validate transactions in a timely manner
Monitors bank account balances throughout the day
Ensures funds are drawn/wired appropriately and timely
Understands revenue/accounts receivable processing
Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision
Serves as job expert in assigned areas
Compiles and prepares accounting reports
Analyzes a variety of data
May apply GAAP guidelines
Reviews documents for compliance
Document procedures and ensure documented procedures are current and followed
Respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours and thoroughly research to provide accurate information
Team oriented and assists team members as needed
Act as Team Lead/Supervisor
Other Ad Hoc duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting and three (3) years of professional accounting job-related experience; OR Two (2) years of experience at the lower level Accountant 3 (FIP022) or equivalent position.

Preferred Qualifications
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, and State Accounting Office guidelines
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong proficiency in financial software applications such as PeopleSoft Financials
Detailed oriented and team player
Strong proficiency in Excel

Additional Information
