Duties

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

Duties includes but are not limited to:

  • Conducts interpretations on Diagnostic Imaging, MRI, CT, US, or NM, Mammography, General Radiology (any or all)
  • Defines Modality Specific Protocolling
  • Consults with Ordering Providers
  • Reviews Orders and defines imaging protocols
  • Attends and Participates in Multi-Disciplinary Conferences
  • Performs Non-IR Invasive Procedures
  • Resident supervision/education
  • Takes part in daily scheduled or on call duties as required by the facility
  • The Physician (Diagnostic Radiologist) works directly with Chief, Imaging Service to assist in ensuring adequate and appropriate staffing and scheduling of complex procedures/exams. Participates in training and support of technical staff.
Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm. Call coverage will be expected for overnight weekends in the event of Teleradiology coverage malfunction or emergent need for non-IR invasive procedures, rotated among diagnostic staff.

(Note: Work schedules are determined and approved by the supervisor. The incumbent may be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis based on facility/patient care needs).
