Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist

Join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals at Jackson Health System, a world-class academic medical center. As a Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of medical excellence.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform highly skilled technical work in diagnostic ultrasound using complex equipment for specialized and/or technically difficult procedures.
  • Acquire pertinent clinical information from patient charts and maintain safety standards particular to the age-specific needs of the patient.
  • Develop films when Medical Surgical Technologist is not available and record complete procedures in the computer (HIS System) and daily log.
  • Transport patients to different areas of the x-ray department and perform portable exams as needed.
  • Assist radiologists in O.R. cases and provide preliminary impressions to physicians after completion of an exam.
  • Explain patient prep instructions and ensure adherence to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Assist in training of ultrasound students, residents, and fellows and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited program in Ultrasound Technology is required.
  • ARDMS registration is mandatory, with certification obtained within six months of hire for employees hired after 2/1/2017.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and any additional applicable life support certification for Healthcare Providers is required upon hire.
