Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in the Echocardiography department at Jackson Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing complex ultrasound examinations using specialized equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scans patients and maintains safety precautions while administering treatments, taking into account the patient's age-specific needs.
  • Acquires pertinent clinical information from patient charts and maintains safety standards particular to the patient's age-specific needs.
  • Develops films when necessary and records complete procedures in the computer system and daily log.
  • Transports patients to different areas of the x-ray department and performs portable exams.
  • Assists radiologists in O.R. cases and gives preliminary impressions to physicians after completing exams.
  • Explains patient prep instructions and ensures they align with the patient's life cycle and safety requirements.
  • Cleans examination rooms after each patient and adheres to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Assists in training ultrasound students, residents, and fellows.
  • Reviews CQI quarterly reports and contributes ideas for continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited program in Ultrasound Technology.
  • ARDMS registration and American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Generally requires 0 to 3 years of related experience.
