Position Overview

As an Inventory Specialist for our Underground district you will be responsible of overseeing the ordering, storing, receiving, and distributing of equipment for the district. Main duties include controlling the flow of supplies and equipment, tracking, monthly billing of projects, and analyzing inventory maintenance.

District Overview

The Underground District has been constructing underground facilities (tunneling, deep foundations) since 1949, and has completed more than 100 underground-related projects totaling more than $1B. Looking for hands-on, engineers excited to be both in the field and office supporting project and estimating work.

Location

This position is located in Aurora, Colorado. Must be local to the area or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities
  • Taking requests from projects for district assets, locating them and getting them shipped.
  • Coordinating with yard personnel to locate equipment
  • Inputting information into the inventory system to maintain an accurate inventory.
  • Tag new items with the correct bar codes
  • Track inventory
  • Ensure documentation is accurately processed, distributed, and released to carrier, forwarders, customers, and agents in a timely manner. Including transit documents and customs clearances, exists for shipments.
  • Drives logistics & continuous improvement activities including inventory control, warehousing, transportation, logistics planning, order processing & customer service
  • Communicates & reinforces Logistics plans.
  • Maintains clear communication & close co-operation with Customer Service, Materials Planning, Manufacturing, & major suppliers/vendors.
  • Works with Quality, Planning, Construction, Carriers and Customers to proactively avoid & resolve quality & service issues relating to logistics.
  • Create, maintain, and update Excel spreadsheets and supplier information.
  • Maintain various logs, reports, templates,
  • Provide administrative coordination, communication, and document control for assigned project(s).
  • Corresponds with clients and customers.
  • Coordinating trucking to and from project locations
  • Some travel required
  • Operate forklift

    Qualifications
    • 3 years' experience working with inventory
    • Experience working with construction equipment and materials highly desired
    • Good understanding of Microsoft Excel
    • Prior SAP Experience preferred
    • Experience with inventory software
    • Have a strong work ethic and professional demeanor
    • Effective time management and organizational skills
    • Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and accurately
    • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
