The internship program at Volkswagen Group of America Chattanooga Operations is intended to provide college / university students and recent graduates the opportunity to use and develop skills they have learned in the classroom by working at our state-of-the-art production facility, and to provide Volkswagen Chattanooga the opportunity to develop talent for potential future entry-level positions.

Summary

Our internships are full-time positions (40 hours/week). Candidates will be expected to be available to work during normal business hours (Monday – Friday; exact hours will vary by position and some positions might require work on Saturdays). To be eligible for the internship program, candidates are required to be enrolled at an accredited post-secondary educational institution or have graduated from one within the 6 months prior to the start date of the internship. Candidates who do not meet our guideline will not be considered. This position will start in August and end in December 2024. Applications for later terms will not be accepted at this time.

Responsibilities

Supporting the quality assurance department with issues tracking and implementation of improvements for the process / product by design and implement database structure. Assist with understanding final vehicle audit complaints. Design, develop, test, debug, modify and support new, or existing database software in accordance with area standard practices. Leading and solving of a customer warranty complaint for a vehicle in production in Chattanooga.

  • Technical analysis: Create/modify issue topic tracking system
  • Communication: Summarize findings to QA group with data collected
  • Process improvement: Implement process or product improvements based on findings
  • Process checks: work with all shops (body, paint and assembly), QA, and Technical Development to resolve complaints
Qualifications

Education

  • 2+ years towards an Engineering degree from an accredited University.

Required Skills

  • Strong Database skills (ex: MSFT Access),
  • Data entry, VBA, and SQL programming skills
  • Fluent English
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
