Overview and Responsibilities:

The CBS News Bureau in San Francisco is seeking an experienced Executive Producer who is prepared to set the agenda for a new national newscast This person at will be the backbone of the CBS stream's 24/7 promise, offering breaking news from around the world, best-in-class storytelling, on-the-ground reporting and a behind-the-scenes look at how coverage comes together. Innovative AR/VR technology will improve the experience, providing context, transparency, and accuracy.



Responsibilities include, but are not limited:
  • Oversee 60-minute newscasts.
  • Responsible for story selection and editorial content.
  • Lead and work with national assignment editors, reporters, writers and producers while making editorial and content decisions in accordance with department guidelines and standards.
  • Effectively communicate with field reporters, editors and talent.
  • Respond aggressively to breaking news.
  • Use all production elements accurately and creatively.
  • Exercise strong national news judgment.
  • Make quick decisions, and clearly communicate in the control room.


Basic Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years experience of news management experience and 3 years line producing experience with a proven track record.
  • Familiar with AR/VR production.


Additional Qualifications:
  • Related College degree and/or equivalent preferred.
  • Outstanding Storyteller.
  • The personal and professional maturity to direct and manage a staff of experienced reporters, writers and editors.
  • Excellent writing and production skills.
  • Adept at responding to breaking news, both strategically and in the control room.
  • Eagerness to incorporate new media strategies and technologies.
  • Desire and ability to innovate.

  • Must be able to sit at desk for long periods of time and operate keyboard.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $130, ,

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
