Roles and Responsibilities

As the MCE Liftra Field Manager, you will:

  • Manage the group of multiple Engineering Technicians, Technicians and Certified Liftra SHC operators.
  • Maintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standards.
  • Lead the review of each work instructions and work with the team to update and ensure that the most up to date procedure is available.
  • Lead the review of tool kit lists to insure the proper tooling is updated as new processes and procedures are developed.
  • Lead the review and planning for tool kit lists and work with Tooling Dept. to ensure proper quantities are in each kit.
  • Collaborate with Fleet / Element / Third parties to procure, maintain and provide movement of the SHC assets as needed
  • Be the point of contact for customer communication when necessary.
  • Coordination equipment and operator certifications.
  • Communicate and manage manpower needs with Service Manager.
  • Execute the growth plan set by the Service Manager. This will include mentoring Engineering technicians and help them develop future leaders from within their teams. The growth plan will include future growth plans for all direct reports.
  • Drive technical training needs with teams to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure that each crew is filling out and uploading POD's, completing any required reports for the job and correct any issues that may arise.
  • Work in field with team as needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes and procedures
  • Perform administrative functions, such as writing technical reports, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, and time sheet and expense sheets on a complete, timely and thorough basis.
  • Participate in conference calls
  • Ensure problem resolution.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience on Major Component Exchanges and / or field services on Wind Turbines)
  • Minimum of 3 years of advanced experience in the Services & On Site Services.


Eligibility Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to climb wind turbine generators and work at heights as needed.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time both internationally and domestically, including weekends and holidays.
