In this role you will:

Proactively drive top-line revenue for SMERF& Leisure sales segment.
Use the property's computerized sales management system to manage the hotel's business, including (but not limited to) generating reports, blocking space, building accounts, and logging activities.
Participate in business review meetings, training, trade shows, community events, industry meetings and networking activities to promote the hotels and expand business opportunities.
Assist in implementing special promotions relating to direct sales segments, i.e. parties, sales blitzes, etc.
Excellent solicitation practices using the existing customer database
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and lost accounts
Meet or exceed sales solicitation call goals as assigned by the Area Director of Sales.
Conduct a professional, thorough site inspection of the hotel with clients, exhibiting key features and benefits of the property.
Daily prospecting for new business to maximize revenue
Respond to Inquiries within the stipulated timeframe, initiate and follow up on leads
Be knowledgeable of Newark and Oakland local area, and local competitive hotels and their marketing sales strategies, stay current with trends and developments in the market.
Requirements to be successful in this role:2+ years' experience preferred at a Marriott hotel or major hotel brand
Extended Stay experience a PLUS
Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and written with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
Prior experience with SFA web is preferred; however, experience with using Delphi, STS, or similar databases is necessary.
Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
Attend all hotel-required meetings and training.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing nametags.
Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of information.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
