Duties

Provides budgetary technical assistance and briefs CASCOM directors and staff as required. Administers all funds issued to the Commander, to include annual funding program, allotments, allowances obligation authorities, reimbursable, and other fund instruments. Analyzes program and budget guidance and instructions from higher headquarters to determine impact on operations. Assisted by the major activity directors and activity directors, prepares the mission execution plan. Supervises a group of employees engaged in budget development and execution functions.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment. Certification Level 3: THIS IS A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 3 Certified position. Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program. This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience programming, budgeting, controlling and coordinating tasks pertinent to accomplishment of program and budget functions along with forecasting current and future funding requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
