Main Purpose of Job
This position provides coordination and implementation of all adolescent health initiatives within the Office of Family and Community Health Services. Primary responsibilities include the coordination of three Federal projects focusing on sexuality education and the coordination of Title V activities related to adolescent health. Under the general direction of the Director of the Office of Family & Community Health Services (OFCHS), and the Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Program Manager, this position monitors the development of best practices and trends in adolescent health at a national level; promotes best practices on adolescent health issues through oversight of implementation and ensuring forward-facing materials are medically accurate, culturally competent, and trauma-informed; collaborates with internal and external partners to implement positive youth development initiatives and adolescent pregnancy prevention interventions; prepares and reports on Title V activities that address adolescents; develops policies and programs designed to meet adolescents' unique health challenges and needs throughout Maryland and assure access to appropriate high-quality health services and information; identifies collaborative opportunities across administrative boundaries by addressing issues, such as reproductive and behavioral health, chronic disease, healthy lifestyles, and health disparities to assure positive health outcomes for adolescents; and manages grants and contracts for adolescent sexual and reproductive health grantees through approximately $3 million in Federal funds. This position provides significant operational support to the adolescent health portfolio.\r
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \r
Experience: Three years of professional experience in assisting in the coordination of a health-related program(s) or referring people to governmental and private resources. \r

1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university on a year-for-year basis for the required experience. \r
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health-related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.\r
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred candidates should possess experience working with adolescent populations and supporting public health programs.��Familiarity with sexual health education, including knowledge-sharing in schools, community-based organizations, or clinical settings, is highly preferred.\r
