Main Purpose of Job
This position will provide programmatic and policy support to the Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Control on strategic statewide healthy heart prevention and hypertension programming, policy and planning activities. This position will be responsible for advanced public health policy analysis, particularly in leading the development of a statewide Healthy Heart Action Plan, and will coordinate and oversee implementation of plan activities. The position directs and coordinates the activities of the Maryland Heart Health Learning Collaborative (HHLC), a statewide advisory group working to identify gaps in CVD prevention and management programs and to advance health equity and positive health outcomes. This position researches and analyzes health care data and makes recommendations to support evaluation, policy, programs, and services development related to healthy heart programming. The position will work collaboratively with Center team members, as well as other Department staff, to oversee targeted action plan activities, and manage procurement, partnerships, and product development. The position provides input on evaluation, analysis and development of policies and programs that address the public health challenges presented by heart disease and its risk factors in the State of Maryland.\r
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:� A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.\r
Experience: Three years of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.\r

1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field�for one year of the required experience.\r
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Doctorate degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field�for two years of the required experience. \r

Experience in the field of Public Health, including familiarity with public health principles, practices, and protocols.�\r
Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation within the realm of public health initiatives, involving a proven track record of successfully managing and executing health-related programs.\r
Experience working effectively within committees, task forces, or similar collaborative groups focused on public health initiatives, including the ability to contribute meaningfully to discussions, facilitate decision-making processes, and coordinate efforts among diverse stakeholders.\r

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r

BENEFITS
\r
\r
Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.\r
Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.\r
