Duties
  • You will serve as an EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST in the RADIAC SYSTEMS ENGINEERING AND MANAGEMENT DIVISION of the ORDNANCE SYSTEMS ENGINEERING AND MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT (OSEMD), Yorktown, VA.
  • You will report all RADIAC customer concerns to the RCL Supervisor and specify storage and packing requirements for shipment of RADIAC equipment, to include those containing radioactive sources.
  • You will maintain all equipment logs and records which include shipments, storage, maintenance and demilitarization records.
  • You will track all RADIAC movements; to include all radioactive sources listed on the Navy Radioactive Materials Permit (NRMP), while in OSEMD's custody.

      Qualifications

      GS-9:
      Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

      *Experience performing a range of tasks associated with inventory shipping and receiving processes of materials and equipment including Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) and Radioactive Materials.
      *Experience applying and utilizing Department of Defense (DOD) packaging and transportation regulations.
      *Experience performing database input for accurate accountability of materials and equipment.
      *Experience communicating orally and applying written communication skills necessary for customer service, interdepartmental coordination, and reporting as necessary to supervisor.
      *Experience operating or have the ability to be licensed to operate material handling equipment such as forklift trucks and vehicles to store, relocate, deliver, and ship materials.

      GS-7:
      Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

      *Experience performing a range of tasks associated with inventory shipping and receiving processes of materials and equipment.
      *Experience performing database input for accurate accountability of materials and equipment.
      *Experience operating or have the ability to be licensed to operate material handling equipment such as forklift trucks and vehicles to store, relocate, deliver, and ship materials.

      Education

      Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess:

      GS-9:
      master's or equivalent graduate degree
      or
      2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
      or
      LL.B. or J.D., if related

      GS-7:
      1 full year of graduate level education
      or
      superior academic achievement
