Description:

The registered dietitian (RD) is responsible for the nutritional assessment and intervention of acute care hospitalized patients. The RD recommends appropriate medical nutrition therapy based on patient's diagnosis, nutrition focused physical exam and overall health status. Identifies the proper nutrition regimen and places order in the medical record. Communicates plan of care to all responsible parties. Educates patients, family and significant others on nutrition plan. Contributes to departmental achievements through process improvement. Documents findings, orders, interventions in the electronic health record.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Nutrition - Master's degree preferred. BSNT required.
  • Current Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) or CDR Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist. If registration/license eligible, must become registered/licensed within 6 months.
  • Less than 1 year of experience
  • direct patient care through assessment, intervention, and care planning.
  • The following proven skills are expected, include excellent verbal/written communication.
  • Critical thinking
  • Basic computer
  • Service excellence.
