Sinclair is currently seeking part-time (adjunct) faculty for day, evening, online and weekend courses at our partner correctional institutions:

  • Trumbull Correctional - Leavittsburg
  • Ohio State Penitentiary - Youngstown
  • Franklin Medical Center - Columbus
  • Correctional Reception Center - Columbus
  • Pickaway Correctional - Columbus (Orient)
  • Southeastern Correctional - Lancaster
  • Southern Ohio Correctional Facility - Lucasville
  • Ross Correctional - Chillicothe
  • Ohio Reformatory for Women - Marysville

Principal Accountabilities

  • Work closely with MHAS AJT Coordinator:
  • to plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning
  • distribute syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies
  • following the course content and learning materials
  • to communicate course expectations with students
  • Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate
  • Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student's needs
  • Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success
  • Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress
  • Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information
  • Cannot exceed maximum of 12 credit hours per semester

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Master's Degree in the content area or related field is required
  • Must have knowledge of your local community mental health and addiction service agencies required.
  • Evidence of successful prior teaching experience is preferred.
  • A demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level preferred.
  • Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse college community required.
  • Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction required
  • Ability to pass a DRC background check required
