Job Summary and QualificationsThe Accountant III is responsible for assigned month-end close journal entries, reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts, and analysis of financial results in a multi-facility environment. Must comply with GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, and other regulations.
What you will do in this role:
- Prepare monthly reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts, to include documentation to support all balances. Maintain balance sheet standards per department guidelines.
- Prepare journal entries required to accurately close the monthly fiscal period, for assigned entities; and provide appropriate supporting documentation per department guidelines.
- Analyze general ledger accounts and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting standards and APG's.
- Maintain multiple general ledgers within scope of responsibility.
- Respond to requests for information from corporate accounting, internal and external auditors, and other internal management.
- Maintain ongoing documentation related to corporate tax packages, and escheat filings.
- Ensure that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved.
- Assist in the development, documentation, and implementation of department accounting standards and processes.
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Or related field from accredited college or university.
- 2 years of progressive work experience in accounting and general financial operations.
