KBR is looking for a Lead Control Systems Engineer leading a team of technical professionals and perform assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic control systems engineering principles. You will use judgment in making selections and adaptation of engineering alternatives and perform specific and well-defined assignments. You will use your PE, knowledge and experience to fill the role as the engineer of record for your projects.

A current PE or willing to obtain once hire is required.

The key duties and responsibilities for this role include:

  • Providing engineer of Record oversight for multiple projects
  • Providing technical leadership to multiple projects.
  • Leading development of instrumentation specifications, control system specification, and analyzer specifications.
  • Providing checking and review services for projects.
  • Instrumentation team leadership of teams with 1-5+ members.
  • Provide Instrumentation leadership in safety reviews and safety loop designs.
  • Interdisciplinary coordination and interoffice coordination leadership.
  • Department and work team activities as needed to ensure success of our projects and office
  • Post degree certifications (Safety engineer, etc) a plus.
  • Complete assigned tasks with consideration of the budgeted work hours and schedule commitments.

Additional Candidate's expected duties are:

  • Candidate is expected to seek comity in states where work is assigned and act as the responsible engineer for the CSE scope of the project.
  • Develop and manage the preparation, review and checking of mechanical specification packages in accordance with Client requirements and industry best practices.
  • Support work group leads on a wide range of project tasks.
  • Participate in the entire procurement life cycle while working closely with all disciplines.
  • Participate in special assignments tailored to meet candidates' area of technical focus.
  • Participate in department training programs, office wide employee resource groups (ERGs), attend technical seminars and help arrangement technical training for the department when requested.

Depending upon the candidate a career trajectory may also be tailored to grow into a subject matter expert for the Wilmington office.

Job Requirements and preferences

  • Bachelor's in chemical engineering or electrical Engineering
  • Current PE in a United States state or territory with no unresolved actions against.
  • Chemical Plant instrumentation design experience desired.
