Job Description The Safety Technician is responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for employees. This position involves working closely with employees, supervisors, and management to identify, evaluate, and eliminate safety hazards. The Safety Technician also creates and implements safety programs, provides safety training, and conducts safety inspections.

Safety Technician Duties and ResponsibilitiesImplement, and maintain safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.Inspect facilities, equipment, and operations to identify potential safety hazards.Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and develop corrective action plans.Monitor safety performance in the workplace and provide feedback to employees and management.Maintain safety records and documentation.Provide input and assistance in the development of safety budgets.Other duties as assigned.Required Education, Experience, & Skills Required Education, Experience, & SkillsTypically requires a High School diploma/GED and 1-year experience as a Safety Technician or Inspector, or the overall equivalent, which could include experience in safety fields (civilian and military), and/or higher education.OSHA Maritime 10-Hour training. OSHA 3095 Electrical Standard.OSHA 3115 Fall Protection.OSHA 521 Introduction to Industrial Hygiene.OSHA 5410 Occupational Health and Safety Standards for the Maritime Industry24-Hour and annual 8-Hour update for Shipyard Competent Person training.Must have the ability to effectively communicate and interact with employees, management, customers, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.Ability to provide training to groups of various sizes.Able to perform evaluations in various environments including but not limited to noise, illumination, atmospheric conditions (confined spaces), while ensuring proper working environments are established and maintained.Computer skills to include Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).Capable of working in a variety of physically demanding environments and weather conditions including climbing, bending, crawling, working at heights, inside of enclosed and confined spaces, heat, rain, wind, etc.Must possess a valid driver's license.Able to acquire and maintain a government access badge.Able to work independently and as part of a team. Note: This position is subject to overtime to include weekends and holidays.

Full-Time Salary Range: $ $65900

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
