Job Description

BAE Systems is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated junior engineering technologist to join our NATO Seasparrow Project Office (NSPO) team in Arlington, VA. The selected candidate will provide engineering, and programmatic support to the Missile Hardware Development Manager in the Missile Development Division (N-50) for the ESSM Block 2 missile, its components and associated equipment. Specific support elements, involve collaborating with Navy Field Activities, the Design Agent and our US – International stakeholders in planning, supporting N-50 test events, maintaining associated project schedules, and budget execution dashboards.

Position specific duties include:

  • Provide engineering support to the N-50 Division in resolving technical action items/issues/problems. Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and documentation related to ESSM development as required.
  • Develop and maintain detailed ESSM development project schedules. Monitor development project timelines and milestones and provide recommendations to the Missile Hardware Development Manager. Coordinate with internal and external team members to ensure all tasks are completed on schedule.
  • Support Missile Software development initiatives from requirements definition to development of engineering programs using the NAVSEA Technical Review Manual (TRM) to establish Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) milestones.
  • As directed by the N50 Division Director, manage the N50 risk register and ensure risks are current and mitigation plans are well documented.
  • Coordinate with internal and external team members to ensure all tasks are completed on schedule.
  • Act as a N-50 representative for IWS 12 and facilitate communications between all stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of classified or unclassified events.
  • Support our US-International partners during missile development activities.
  • Support the N-50 Division Director in tracking project budgets and expenditures.
  • Compile, catalogue and maintain inventory of classified materials in Divisional safes. Conduct periodic audits and provide reports as required or as requested.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills Education:
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or a related field). 4 relevant year experience with Engineering Development programs maybe used in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
Experience:
  • 0-3 years of experience in engineering, preferably in a Navy or Defense environment.
  • Possess a general understanding of technological concepts in electronic, software, mechanical, and related technological disciplines to support Missile Hardware and Software design initiatives as well as test plans and procedures.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Experience with project scheduling (e.g MS Project etc,) and financial reporting (e.g. PowerBi) is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in an International Team environment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritizing effectively.
  • Ability to travel domestically to support Development related meetings
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Secret Security Clearance preferred

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $ $105050

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
