Position Overview

This role will contribute to the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Defense Programs by leveraging systems engineering and integration (SE&I) expertise. The selected candidate will formulate and implement studies to facilitate Systems Engineering and Integration activities in areas such as systems architecture evaluations, acquisition program effectiveness assessments, requirements development, and risk analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee task execution and the integration of technical analyses into cohesive, high-quality final deliverables.
  • Define and implement strategies for deploying Mission Assurance practices within the NNSA framework, utilizing established scientific, engineering, quality, and program management principles to achieve mission objectives.
  • Provide support to the NNSA Office of Systems Engineering and Integration and other NNSA divisions with systems engineering and integration expertise.
  • Conduct comprehensive systems studies and analyses that inform technical, programmatic, and organizational decision-making across various acquisition and modernization initiatives.
  • Perform analyses including systems architecture evaluations, technology development planning, organizational effectiveness assessments, and risk evaluations.
  • Collaborate with program development and execution teams to maximize the technical capabilities of The Aerospace Corporation in all pertinent areas.
  • Conduct technical analyses and develop Model-Based Systems Engineering and Model-Based Development tools for acquisition programs and lifecycle applications.
  • Represent The Aerospace Corporation to senior-level stakeholders.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering, science, or a related field, along with relevant experience in technical operations or management of advanced technology national security systems.
  • A minimum of twelve years of experience in systems engineering, requirements engineering, risk management, and quality assurance, with a proven track record of successful design, development, testing, deployment, and operational processes.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate self-motivation.
  • Proven leadership and teamwork capabilities in planning, leading studies, and engaging with internal technology organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform analyses and lead the delivery of technical products.
  • Willingness to travel approximately one week per month for customer and collaboration engagements.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An advanced degree in engineering, science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience exceeding twelve years in systems engineering, requirements engineering, risk management, and quality assurance.
  • Familiarity with Digital Engineering tools and analysis programs for acquisition management, design, and production.
  • Experience in data virtualization and visualization.
  • Formal education or certification in systems engineering and/or project management.
  • Experience in systems engineering, program controls, and quality assurance, including requirements flow-down, interface definition, and risk management.
  • Knowledge of NNSA Defense Programs missions and Aerospace Engineering and Technology Group capabilities.
  • Current Top-Secret Clearance.
