We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Heavy Civil and Mining Safety Manager to join our team. In this key position, you will oversee safety procedures on heavy civil construction sites. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in safety management, particularly in heavy civil and mining projects including infrastructure, bridges, roads, dams, and mines.

The Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal safety standards on-site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Project Management to maintain project safety
  • Participate in Morning Meetings (Stretch & Flex)
  • Support client meetings and reporting
  • Provide incident reports to the Regional Manager
  • Manage incident cases
  • Conduct safety audits and submissions
  • Coordinate Personal Protective Equipment ordering
  • Train Field Safety personnel
  • Execute emergency action plans in the absence of the Project Safety Manager
  • Promote a safe work environment, building trust with site employees
  • Understand and be prepared to fulfill the roles of the Project Safety Manager when needed
  • Other assigned duties

Experience, Education & Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in construction or renewable energy as a Safety Manager or in a Craft Safety role
  • Associate's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or BCSP credentials STSC, CHST, or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Ability to conduct trainings
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and strong motivational skills
  • Effective time management and prioritization
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Preferably certified by Mine Safety and Health Administration and holder of Blue Card

Working Environment

  • Up to 100% travel required for national projects
  • Construction Site Environment - physical requirements include standing, walking, crawling, bending, reaching, and climbing, exposure to high noise levels
