Looking for an expert level Media System Engineer with extensive experience architecting, building and supporting enterprise media storage environments both on prem and in AWS. The candidate should also have a strong knowledge supporting media applications (Avid/Adobe/Blackmagic), virtualize compute environments and Mac/Windows/Linux workstations. The engineer should be able to work independently to design solutions to meet the needs of various large scale post production environments and be able to clearly communicate to both technical and non-technical customers.
**Responsibilities:**
Architect, build, and support enterprise media storage environments both on-premises and in AWS.
Provide extensive experience in storage system architecture, including cloud and on-premises solutions.
Manage large, distributed infrastructure and design solutions for post-production environments.
Support media applications such as Avid, Adobe, and Blackmagic.
Optimize and automate deployments, manage compute and networking resources, and monitor cloud systems.
**Required Qualifications:**
Proven experience in storage system architecture, both cloud-based and on-premises.
Specific expertise with at least one of the following: Stornext, Isilon.
Strong experience in AWS services.
Familiarity with media/post-production tools (e.g., AWS Elemental, Dalet, SDVI, Vantage, Frontporch, Avid, Blackmagic).
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
**Nice-to-Have:**
Experience with SDI video routers.
Proficiency in Python scripting.
Knowledge of production/post-production workflows.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
**30/60/90 Day Plan:**
**30 Days:** Knowledge transfer from the outgoing engineer.
**60 Days:** Maintenance of existing storage systems and onboarding for new storage projects.
**90 Days:** Transition to new cloud storage as the team moves locations.
**Projects You Will be Working On:**
Onboard Dell Isilon on AWS for testing (POC).
Support Avid Nexus on the cloud and troubleshoot storage issues.
Assist the editorial team with Adobe Cloud licenses.
Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST (flexible).
