Professional Relations Assistant

A large company in the healthcare sector is seeking a part-time Professional Relations Assistant to join their team. In this role, you will serve as the primary contact for answering and responding to incoming calls, emails and faxes related to Medicaid and ensure that the Medicaid system is current and up to date.

Hours
Part-time, Monday to Friday, (20 hours/week between 8:00AM-4:30PM)

Pay
$20.50 to $22.70 an hour

Responsibilities
  • Answer the Professional Relations phone line, faxes, messages, and emails addressing questions, issues from both internal and external customers as they relate to the Medicaid business.
  • Update the Medicaid database with information received from the Med-QUEST office weekly. Coordinate with the Med-QUEST provider relations department in resolving provider registration issues.
  • Maintain and perform daily updates to dentist's information in the database in an accurate and timely manner in the Medicaid system.
  • Work with the claims department to resolve provider data issues that affect claims processing.
  • Enroll and terminate Medicaid online users.
  • Ensure all Medicaid fees schedules are up-to-date and accurately input into the Medicaid system in a timely manner.
  • Communicate Medicaid network changes to the Professional Relations department.
  • Identify needs and promote Medicaid services to external customers when opportunities arise (for example, Direct deposit, E-claims, ERA).
  • Prepare and mail provider correspondence related to Medicaid activities.
  • Scan and maintain electronic files.
  • Assist with audit requests, related to Medicaid.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications
  • High School degree with post-secondary education emphasis in business administration or public administration is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of clerical/administrative experience, customer service or sales in the health care or insurance fields.
  • Dental office or Medicaid experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and sales ability.
  • Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with distractions.
  • Ability to handle all information in a confidential manner and in compliance with federal and state laws/regulations (i.e., HIPAA, PHI).
