Building and Construction Systems, a business unit of Arconic, is the leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum products and systems for the commercial construction industry. Kawneer is part of Arconic's global Building and Construction Systems (BCS) business unit, which manufactures and markets architectural systems and products in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Kawneer North America offers architectural aluminum building products and systems for the commercial construction industry. In 2010, Traco, a premier manufacturer of windows was acquired by Alcoa and is now a division of Kawneer. Together, we provide customers with a comprehensive product portfolio that includes entrances, framing systems, windows, and curtain wall systems.

Summary:

We have an immediate opening for a Project Manager in our Kawneer business located in Cranberry Township, PA. The Project Manager role is responsible for servicing our customers' needs for large fabricated and/or stock length projects and dealing with day-to-day activities within the customer service area.

The Project Manager manages and coordinates all activities related to execution of a booked project. This position acts as the focal point of all information flow between the customer and Cranberry Front End and Operations.

Major activities/Key Challenges:

  • The responsibilities of a Project Manager can be divided into the following categories:
  • Review a booked contract for completeness and feasibility.
  • Communicate with customers to ensure their orders flow through order entry smoothly and get executed in a timely fashion in the plant.
  • Establish critical path for engineered projects in coordination with Engineering.
  • Coordinate pricing, availability, and lead times for procured items.
  • Issue and address requests for information (RFIs) from Order Entry function as well as the Customer.
  • Establish and communicate a control plan for phased projects.
  • Work with the Credit department for customer's credit and tax status.
  • Revenue and margin management based on project phasing, change orders etc.
  • Entering and managing customer claims.

  • Proven ability to manage several projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to manage and communicate internally and to the customers, on numerous projects running simultaneously. Ability to verbally communicate effectively.
  • Ability to maintain and enhance strong customer relationships, market, and segment knowledge.
  • Comfortable with reading and understanding construction documents.
  • Comfortable using computer application geared towards project estimating and take-off.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to verbally communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • A strong professional image, ethical standards, integrity, objectivity, confidence, and dedication to internal and external customers.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships. Must be self-motivated, people-oriented, service-oriented, and possess the ability to work with others.
  • Must possess conflict management skills.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a complex customer service environment (high call volume or high customer contact)
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution or 2 years of industry experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and related material and information flow paths

About the Team

Our Kawneer plant is located in Cranberry Township, PA which is about 30 minutes north of Pittsburgh, PA. This location has continuously built our products here since the early 1970s and we have a long legacy of products we've manufactured including the windows for the crown of the Statue of Liberty. Currently we supply commercial windows and aluminum sticks to companies nationwide. We are easily accessible being surrounding by many major highways as well as have many popular shopping, recreation, and dining options.
