Viking Drill & Tool, an employee-owned manufacturer of high-speed cutting tools, has an opening for a motivated and self-driven Production Facilitator on third shift (10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.).

This is a salaried, exempt position that reports to the Production Manager.

The qualified candidate will have 2-4 years manufacturing experience as well as 1-2 years in a leadership role.

Some of the qualifications necessary include:

  • Exceptional people skills with the strong ability to motivate, communicate, and confront situations as they arise.
  • The ability to supervise staff of 25 to 50, ensure daily departmental goals are met, implementation and maintenance of system and process related to lean manufacturing.
  • Excellent, consistent attendance.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • The ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • The ability to understand and help plan for present and future staffing requirements in order to keep operations performing at desired levels.
  • The ability to direct resources to make certain key operations function at the highest level possible to meet customer requirements.
  • The ability to demonstrate a sense of urgency to get the job done.
  • The ability to set goals and expectations, maintain high levels of feedback, and monitor performance to ensure that goals and expectations are being met. To show a desire and willingness to help teammates so they can be the best they can be.
  • The ability to work with the Scheduling, Shipping, Maintenance, Training, and Quality functions within our company to create optimum conditions for excellence.
  • The ability to understand and maximize flow of product through operations.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two year certificate/degree and/or a combination of education and experience.
  • Manufacturing/Mechanical/Technical background a plus.
