POSITION SUMMARY
This role is responsible for overseeing the production supervisory team and the Packroom to meet production objectives. The focus is on planning, organizing, and managing production processes to ensure that products are manufactured efficiently, punctually, and within financial constraints, while upholding quality and safety protocols. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of how production interacts with essential departments such as customer service, human resources, payroll, and engineering.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitates daily operational meetings.
- Works in conjunction with human resources on performance management and employee relations.
- Conducts weekly payroll assessments and approvals, managing time off and attendance.
- Develops and oversees production supervisor schedules.
- Supervises production activities through the production supervisor team, preparing and presenting production metrics in meetings and to the Director of Operations.
- Effectively manages the production supervisor team.
- Ensures adherence to quality standards.
- Analyzes production and quality data to identify and rectify issues.
- Modifies staffing schedules as needed and acts as a backup for production supervisors when required.
- Promotes a safe and clean working environment by educating and guiding personnel on control points, equipment, and resources in compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Collaborates with safety vendors to maintain the company's safety initiatives.
- Partners with customer service to promptly address client needs.
- Manages plant supplies, ensuring sufficient inventory levels.
- Actively engages in Lean events and drives Lean enhancements, ensuring effective implementation of Lean initiatives by production supervisors.
- Interacts with union representatives, including stewards, to address employee matters in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement, fostering positive relations.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- In-depth knowledge of production processes and methodologies.
- Strong familiarity with laundry systems preferred (e.g., Linen Master, e-tech, Milnor, etc.).
- Business insight to strategize for future developments.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES
This position directly manages the production team and is accountable for recruitment, training, performance evaluations, coaching, disciplinary actions, and termination processes.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While executing the responsibilities of this position, the employee is required to stand or walk for the majority of the day and must also be able to: sit; use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; maintain balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; communicate verbally; and perceive taste or smell. The employee may occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 20 pounds. Specific vision capabilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of five years of experience in a production setting.
- At least three years of experience in a management or supervisory role.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing Principles.
- Experience in a unionized work environment.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Basic proficiency in technology (Computer Software: Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
